Who is Ryan Adra?

Hello! I'm a recent graduate from UC Irvine with a B.S. in Computer Science. I love exploring the intersections between design and tech for social good to design products and user experiences aimed to empower and uplift folks from diverse communities with different experiences.

Skills + Interests

Design, Tech, + More

While I have interests in design and tech, I have decided to focus on other hobbies and passions that also make me happy.

Design

  • Figma has become my new best friend. This is my main software I use for creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
  • I've been dabbling in learning the Adobe Creative Suite. I've done a few personal projects in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator so far, and I plan to learn Adobe XD in the near future.
  • While most of my design experiences have been in web interfaces, I would like to explore mobile interfaces and possibly AR/VR.

    • Life

  • Created a Anime Tracker Notion Page because I wanted to figure out a way to track the anime I've watched and am currently watching and to provide recommendations to others.
  • Dreaming about the places I plan to travel to once the panda express has subsided and it's safe to do so. South Korea, I'll be seeing you sometime soon.
  • Spending more time to cherish the relationships I have with people in my life as well as creating new connections in a post-grad life.

    Work, Work, Work

    My experiences with design and product research have shaped me to become the UX designer I am right now and want to grow into in the future.

    June 2021 - August 2021

    National Institutes of Health

    Design Fellow

    I was a design fellow for the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences where I worked on conducting user research on how to streamline internal processes in the organization and provide user centric recommendations on how to resolve pain points within their current flow.

    August 2020 - June 2021

    Commit the Change, UCI

    UX Design Lead

    I was a UX Design Lead for Commit the Change, UCI, a student organization with the motto "Tech with Purpose". My team's project was partnered with the nonprofit organization Waymakers, and we designed a volunteer dashboard/inventory management system, which will help internal organization processes become more efficient, saving them time to focus more on their advocacy work.

    Curicular

    UX Design Intern

    I interned at Curicular, an edtech startup whose mission is to make the college admissions process more affordable and accessible for high school students. I was 1 of 4 UX Design interns, and our work mainly consisted of redesigning the company website, thus enhancing the user experience and making the business more profit.

    WEBTOON Entertainment Inc.

    Product Research Intern

    My first real-world experience in a product team was becoming a Product Research Intern for the company. My work consisted of collecting data related to the product and analyzing the information in order to understand user behaviors and trends and using this data in order to improve the user experience with the WEBTOON app and make the company more profit.
